HOW PUPTOMISATION BEGAN
The idea for Puptomisation sparked when I captured what might be the most adorable picture in existance of our two pups, Dottie and Winnie. And like any beloved family member, I felt they deserve a place of honour on our living room wall.
I'll be honest, I'm one of those people who talks to their dogs like they're tiny humans, but as I proudly mounted their portrait, my fiancé suggested that it might just solidify our "crazy dog owners" status.
Then came the epiphany: if our furry family members were going to grace our walls, why not make their portraits something truly unique? Something funny, something that matched our home's aesthetic, and maybe, just maybe, something that would elicit a bewildered "WTF?" from our guests, followed by a slightly uncomfortable chuckle.

Armed with a block of the finest cheese for our newly employed spaniels, I put my creative skills to the test. My mission: to transform our beloved pups into 'aesthetic and quirky' pieces of fine art. The result? Let's just say I was obsessed and I had to share my creations with our family. Their reactions ranged from polite confusion to outright concern for my sanity. But amidst the head-scratching, I knew there were other wonderfully eccentric pet owners out there who would embrace this idea.
Fast forward through countless cheese-fuelled photoshoots, hours lost in the digital art realm, and all the less glamorous behind-the-scenes work... and Puptomisation was born.
Now, I can't wait to embark on this creative journey, turning your cherished pets into an array of unforgettable portraits that will bring joy, personality, and perhaps just a touch of delightful absurdity to your walls!

Carla - Founder, Creative Visionary, Web Wrangler & Chaos Controller
Hi! I'm Carla, the human behind Puptomisation. What started as a fun idea to immortalise my own adorable pups (more on them below!) has blossomed into this passion project. I wear many hats around here, from dreaming up new artistic styles and meticulously crafting each pet portrait to designing and maintaining the website. You can also blame (or thank!) me for the cheesy puns! My goal is to bring joy and a unique touch of personality to your home through art that celebrates the incredible bond we share with our furry family members.

Dottie - Model, Accomplished Sock Thief & Expert Selective Listener
Meet Dottie, our lovely Cocker Spaniel with a wonderfully laid-back personality. Don't let her calm exterior fool you; Dottie is a professional when it comes to sock acquisition – no stray sock is safe for long! She also possesses a remarkable talent for selective hearing; if a request doesn't align with her current priorities, she simply won't hear it! While she's always ready to announce visitors with a series of barks, when Dottie decides it's time for a cuddle, she has a unique and endearing way of letting you know. She'll sit right beside you and make little "singing" noises until you finally give in to her sweet demands. Her often-serene poses (when she's not plotting her next sock heist!) provide endless artistic inspiration.
Winnie - Model, Hyper-Energetic Helper & Exotic Bird Impersonator
This little whirlwind is Winnie, our Sprocker Spaniel, a true embodiment of hyperactive, crazy, and energetic! Despite her constant motion, Winnie is an absolute cuddle monster and would happily spend her entire life glued to your lap. In fact, you'll often find her "helping" me work at my desk in that very position, or, when politely asked for some personal space, firmly planted on my feet. Her vocalizations are rather unique; instead of traditional barks, Winnie communicates in a series of high-pitched squeaks that often have our neighbours wondering if we also have an exotic bird! Eager to please and typical of her Sprocker nature, Winnie will do just about anything for a bit of praise, making her an enthusiastic and often hilarious model for our artwork.
